Wonderful tile & wood small side table by Georges Briard from c. 1969 featuring cherries, strawberry and the Forbidden Fruit pear in orage with gold gilt on white backround. The four tiles centered on a walnut table top with inset of 4 brass bottons on the corners and held up by 4 wood peg legs. Jascha Brojdo (1917-2005) was born in Ukraine, Russia, at the time, to a wealthy and prominent family. Wonderful tile & wood small side table by Georges Briard from c. 1969 featuring cherries, strawberry and the Forbidden Fruit pear in orage with gold gilt on white backround. The four tiles centered on a walnut table top with inset of 4 brass bottons on the corners and held up by 4 wood peg legs.
Jascha Brojdo (1917-2005) was born in Ukraine, Russia, at the time, to a wealthy and prominent family. In 1937 he immigrated to the US. where he became a prominent designer under the name Georges Briard. Most of his creations are in the glassware and dishware production but furniture was also designed by him. Briards creations were coveted and his items were sold only in Nieman Marcus, Bonwit Teller and other high end department stores in the US.
Condition: Very good condition. minor wear consistent with age and use. A couple of the tiles show a little rubbing of the gold.
