Description

A wonderful late 19th. Century French Rococo Revival or Florentine inspired Bronze Wall Mirror with applied floral decoration of elaborate leaves. Great casting.
No damage. Bronze has been cleaned and polished. Top of frame’s applied ornaments are a brassy color while the remaining floral ornaments have a more reddish gold patina (they show very coppery in images). The frame’s body has a beautiful bronze patina with some of the relief showing a bit of golden brass finish. Distressed thick beveled mirror.
The frame has a hanging loop on top, where leaves are more brassy. One of the sides has a wire and three wire holders (the wire is looped through only two of them). The mirror can be hung vertically or horizontally.
The mirror is of European provenance, probably French since it was purchased from an estate where everything was period French antiques.
