Ferdie Pacheco was born in Tampa, Florida on December 8, 1927 and died November 16, 2017 in Miami. Since he had been young, he wanted to be a doctor and had a passion for the arts. His two enthusiasm were realized when his studies as a Medical Doctor which were financed partially by his art. Pacheco’s studies of the human form has strengthned his depiction of his subjects in his art.
After relocating to Miami, Pacheco became known as The Fight Doctor for boxers and corner man for twelve world champions, Muhammad Ali being one of them. Dr. Pacheco tried to influenced Ali to retired due to his declining health but was turned down and left the team.
His love of the boxing influenced his art by painting with sports as a favorite theme.
He also won two Emmys as a boxing commentator for various TV networks.
