Designed in 1967 by Per Lutken for his Havanna Series for Holmegaard Glassworks, this large and exquisite brown glass vase defined the decoration vibe that was popular in Europe at the time which took some time for the brown color to be acceptable for the US market.
Per Lutken (1916-1998) probably the most prolific of Denmark’s glass designers, worked for Holmegaard Glassworks from 1942 until his death 1998. Lutken’s creations consisted of more than 3,000 pieces.
Blown by Odense form #2121B. Havanna Series Brun Color 1967 – from “Glass is Life” by Per Lutken Holmegaard Glassworks Book 1986.
Condition: Very Good. The base shows signs of use and lip has avery minor scratch, see images. Not signed.
Measurements: 13 1/8 inches high x 5 1/2 inches diameter top x 6 1/2 inches diameter base.
