Description

SOLD Fabulous Modern tall sculptural Pitcher by Charles and Alice Smith for their company Chalice of California.  In 1945 they established their studio in Los Angeles and named it CH(arles)ALICE,  a combination of their names.  They produced artistic utilitarian ceramics and decorative items until the mid 1950s when the studio closed.  Their pieces are rare to find and highly sought after.

Here a large decorated pitcher in a modern form and hand painted abstract faces as decoration.  High gloss gray glaze on the handle, spout and the inside while the rest in a matte finish including the gray / black decoration on a white background.

Measurements:  5 inches diameter base  x  6  1/4 inches from spout to end handle  x  12 inches high.
