Description
Designed by Walter Zeischegg and originally produced by Hellit of Germany in 1966-67, the iconic Sinus stackable ashtray came in an array of colors. They were made out of Melamine and were produced by many different manufacturers as seen in our grouping. Besides the two black Sinus ashtrays which were made and stamped on bottom Helit 95, there are two, green/orange, made by Eagle and two of unknown source. No matter who made them, they are great and in very good condition. Op Art from the 1960s.
These ashtrays were made in two sizes #84009 8 inches diameter and the ones here #84005. They would also make great coasters. The Sinus Ashtray is part of the permanent collection of the MOMA in New York.
Measurements: 5 1/4 inches diameter x 1 3/4 inches high
