Description

Vintage 1950’s Sascha Brastoff Rooftops Collection Decorative Candy or Nut Dish or Bowl / Pale Grey Blue, Soft Green Houses / 14k Gold Details / Hand Signed in Gold Sascha B / Mold Number F3 / On Back Rooster Backstamp with Sascha Brastoff Under Rooster.
Measures 9 1/2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches deep x 1 inches high.
Sascha Brastoff made decorative accessories, ceramics, enamels on copper, and plastics of his own design. He headed a factory, Sascha Brastoff of California, Inc., in West Los Angeles, from 1953 until about 1973. He died in 1993. Pieces signed with the signature Sascha Brastoff were his work and are the most expensive. Other pieces marked Sascha B. or with a stamped mark were made by others in his company. Brastoff made hand-painted vases, bowls, ashtrays, and figurines with his trademark overglaze gold trim and flamboyant decorations.

Here we have an outstanding example of a Sascha Brastoff Free Form Dish that is 9 1/2 inches long. Typical of his style, this is a village scene, a unique piece and very distinctive. This definitely has that mid century modern feel.
