Description
A pair of Hannah-Morrison “Sling” Lounge Chairs by Knoll, manufactured in the early production period, 1973. Completely refurbished and re-upholstered in a chenille, corduroy like fabric of thin green horizontal chenille stripes over a burnt red background, the aluminum frames are creamy white and polished chrome. Each sporting partial Knoll labels.
Bruce Hannah (1941) and Andrew Morrison (1939-2021) collaborated creating several minimalist seating products for Knoll in the 1970s. Using aluminum frames to create modern furniture, they introduced a “sling” lounge seating system in 1971 and it was produced through 1984. A few variations of the “sling” chair were created throughout its production. In the early production, there was a flap held by the horizontal polished aluminum frame creating the sling, and the cushion was attached by way of buttons to the sling.
Measurements: 29 inch high back. 30″ x 34″ deep. Seat front at 18 ” high.
