Description
SOLD….From the Fenton Art Glass Company from West Virginia made exclusively for the Metropolitan Museun of Art in New York, a lovely handmade Optic Cased Glass Vase . As the enclosed informational paper, indicates the vase was created from a 19th century procedure. This process required the hot glass being blown into an optic mold. The next step was to mouth blowing the glass into its final shape. The casing was done by adding a light layer of opaque glass and the satin finish was done by etching the vase with acid. A complicated way to create a beautiful product.

The Fenton Art Glass Company was in production from 1905 to 2011 and was the largest producer of handmade color glass in the US.
