Description
Italian Mid Century hand-made olive Green glass basket with handle made by Florentine Art Glassworks in the 1950s. The vessel has an undulating body and the handle is secured by 2 glass holders on the rim of the body. Please note, the handle does not stay up by itself. There is no history (that I could find) of this Glassworks company but more than likely it was situated in the town of Empoli, famous for their green glass. Just beautiful.
The first record of glass blowing in Tuscany dates back to the 12th century. Tuscany had over 100 factories making hand made glass after WWII but now only six remain.
