Large Klinker German Mid Century Modern Pottery Vase 1960s. The body of the vase is painted with a dark chocolate brown glaze and incised into the clay are bands that uncover the red brick clay underneath. Incised on the flat bottom with company logo ( have not been able to identify) and HANDARBEIT and written 301A.
Klinker art pottery is hand thrown and hand decorated and made by using the same type of red clay used in manufacturing bricks. The name KLINKER comes from the Dutch meaning “bricks”. Buckenburg Pottery was one of the primary companies that started producing “Klinger” art pottery.
Measurements: 7 inches top diameter x 8 inches middle diameter x 11 1/4 inches high
