Description
Large and impressive midcentury German pottery Floor Handle Vase or Krug from Scheurich pottery. In the outside a mottled mustard yellow color with a 3 dimensional design of flowers in perpendicular bands and a dark brown inner glaze. The Krug form which consisted of a jug or pitcher shape mostly without a spout, was very popular at the time. Unique German pottery of the period after the war. Exciting and very collected.
Marked in the bottom 480-46. W.GERMANY. 480 is the model no. and 46 is the height in cm.

Keramik Scheurich & Greulich in the early 1950s until late 1955 produced ceramics for other makers and purchased and sold third party items. In 1955 the ceramist Heinz Siery was employed to develop and create new models. A brand new collection was presented in 1960 at the Hanover Industrial Fair. Since then they produced their own designs.
