A fine Pair and very rarely seen Teak Side or Dining Chairs by Arne Hovmand Olsen in 1958 for Mogens Kold Mobilfabrik in Denmark. Beautiful older teak. Re-Upholstered in leatherette. The Chairs have an exceptionally designed form with exciting curves and angles. Each with the metal Mogens Kold tag. One chair has a dented spot on the teak rear seat support (see pic).
Measurements: 34 1/2 inches high back x 20 1/4 inches wide x 19 inches deep. Seat height at 18 1/2 inches.
Danish furniture designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen (1919-1989) started his career in 1938 as a cabinetmaker for P.Olsen Sibast. After studying furniture design in a technical school, Hovmand-Olsen founded his own workshop with great success – his designs gained success not only in Denmark but also internationally, especially in the United States.
