Description
Bill Stephens worked on the design of the Stephens Chair from 1965-1967 for the Yale School of Architecture and was produced by Knoll International. The 1300 Series consists of a frame of laminated wood, oak in this case, and a seat of upholstered hard plastic and newly reupholstered with a neutral soft ribbed bouclé fabric. This model was part of the Knoll’s catalogue until 1988 when the production was discontinued.
Bill Stephens (1932-2007) started working for Knoll in 1960 where he eventually became the Director of its Design and Development Group.
