Organic Modern large bulbous Raku Pottery Vase from Evans Ceramics from California, 1970s. Mixture of ivory crackle glaze and band of matte dark brown surface grace this creation. Signed in gold paint EVANS RAKU 643. Beautiful form and elegant decoration!
Tony Evans (1942-2009) started his ceramic studio in Healsburg, California in the 1970s. Evans Ceramics produced Raku pottery influenced by the Japanese style and process. His ceramics became very popular and some of the major department stores were his customers.
Measurements: 7 inches high x 9 1/2 inches diameter.
Condition: Very Good. No damage, some scuffing around the matte center band. Please see all pics.
