Description
Mid Century Modern striking creation table lamp designed by Yasha Heifetz in the 1950s. Consisting of a cerused Oak body with a swirling copper band flowing around the wood and string accent simulating a sail. Metal finial copper color tops this creation, probably not original. Heifetz ink stamp missing but another example of the same lamp with stamp was auctioned at Wright Auction – Jan 25/2024 – lot 257.
The Heifetz Manufacturing Co. was founded in 1938 in New York by designer Yasha Heifetz. Even though the Heifetz Co. was known for Modern lamps, they produced other items such as ashtrays, some furniture and some scultural items that sometimes were incorporated into their lamps. Over 4,000 items were created with the majority designed by Heifetz himself.
Measurements – Base – 9 3/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches – to Finial – 36 inches – to Socket – 20 inches.
Condition – Very Good Condition . Minor wear consistent with age and use. New wiring and socket, using original casing.
