Description
The ÁNADE Desk lamp was created by Catalan designer Josep Lluscà in 1984 for the Spanish lighting manufacturer Metalarte which produced in 1985. This bedside / desk light is made up of a circular steel base and two section tubular steel arm which folds and swivels. The semi spherical red metallic shade holds one 50 w candelabra base (max) and the shade’s position adjusts automatically to whichever position the arm is placed.
Josep Lluscà Martínez (1948) industrial designer that opened a studio in 1972 in Barcelona.
Metalarte was founded in 1932 as a metal workshop and began producing lighting of their own design in the 40s. Scandinavian design influenced the late 1950s modern designs that became Metalarte’s trademark. A few years later, they commenced to employ well known industrial designers to create lighting for them and Llusca was one of them.

The dimmer switch has been replaced with a ON-OFF switch, the socket has been replaced to accept a standard candelabra bulb, both professionaly replaced.
