SOLD….This Contour lounge chair was designed in the 1960s by David Colwell and manufactured by 4’s Company Ltd. in the United Kingdom. The process required to hand stretch a hot flat perspex or acrylic sheet to be clipped onto a steel rod frame. Colwell’s main emphasis was on comfort and this chair definitely met this requirement. The Contour chair is part of the collection at the Vitra Design Museum in Germany, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London as well the Rhode Island Design Museum. Acrylic seat in very, very good condition, iron frame repainted. Wear consistent with age and use.
