SOLD A colorfull Mid-Century Modern Italian Ceramic Wall Clock from the Howard Miller Meridian Collection. A spoke design with small brown squares at their ends, colored in vivid Orange and Yellow glazes. The old clock movement was replaced with a matching new one which takes one AA battery. The last image that shows the back of the movement that was replaced was stamped with the date – MAY 5 – 1963. Retains Meridian tag.
Bitossi was commissioned to produced ceramic clock faces by Raymor in the early-1960s. The large majority of the pottery faces were designed by Aldo Londi and the Bitossi production was then passed on to Howard Miller Clock Co. of Zeeland, Wisconsin, to be branded. At the time George Nelson was the director at Howard Miller and he designed the hands for the clocks. The clocks were them distributed by Raymor.
Very good condition. Keeps perfect time.
